Due to its size and complexity, Rodoanel Mário Covas was divided into four sections that are sub-divided into lots. These sections are being built separately according to totally different project phases. Learn more details about each of them:
Western Section
Opened in 2002, the Western Section makes the
transportation of cargo from the South to the Center-
West of Brazil faster.
Length: 32 km
Southern Section
The Southern Section, the only one under
construction today, will reach the Anchieta-Imigrantes
system, making cargo transportation and shipping
through the Port of Santos easier. The project should
be ready by March 2010.
Length: 57 km
Eastern Section
The Eastern Section, currently applying for
environmental licensing, will connect SP 66, Ayrton
Senna and Dutra highways.
Length: 43.5 km
Northern Section
The Northern Section, which will be ready by
2014, will connect Guarulhos International Airport,
Fernão Dias highway and the access to Av. Inajar de
Souza, in the North of São Paulo City.
Length: 44 km
